Production manager Hernan Maldonado works with clients to select frames
from their video.

Our generation has turned
into the age of video. We get our information and entertainment from the
video screen and clients are regularly asking us to do a "video" of one
thing or another. There are many times when clients do "videos" themselves
or have investigators do video surveillance of subjects. The problem of
presentation dynamics at trial eventually comes up and this is when making
prints comes into play.
The Evidence Store is
equipped to make high quality still prints from videotapes. It is preferable
to have the original tape available, as we find that the copies we get
to work with are not done professionally and lack a great deal in the
quality department.
When making still images
from video we capture one frame of image for printing. You can see the
difference in quality just by using the "pause" mode on a VCR. The reality
of viewing one frame compared to the perception of image created by several
frames seen in rapid succession is quite different. There are tools we
can use to "sharpen" image and adjust contrast and brightness as well
as color. Prints are then generated that can be used in the smaller sizes
or processed further in the computer to create large "trial size" displays.
Very often stills from
video illustrate sequences of actions, and we can make composite exhibits
of 8x10 prints mounted on fomecor boards with titles to create effective
exhibits.
Fees for this service
are based on the time spent capturing the images plus the per-print charges
depending on size. Call us for more information or E- mail us here and
we will get right back to you.
