Pain
and Suffering Charts
Testimony can get long,
boring and confusing during the damages presentation of a case. Our PAIN
and SUFFERING CHARTS are generally calendar chronologies intended to demonstrate,
at a glance, the entire scope of the hospitalization, treatment and recovery
period of your client. These are designed to allow the attorney to make
reference during opening statements (where allowed) to the fact that the
clientÕs life has been consumed by treatment and pain since the
incident. It also serves as a visual anchor when the client testifies
about their medical visits and confinement during direct examination.
Our charts are color
coded to highlight the key events such as hospitalizations, surgeries,
life support modalities, physical therapy, periods of non or partial weight
bearing, use of walkers and crutches, doctor visits, etc.
The charts work in two
ways. When looking at the key, you can find the desired event within the
body of the exhibit. If the jury sees an extensive amount of one color,
or large number of symbols, the meaning of each can then be found by looking
up in the key.

and samples of these and other types of charts not shown here.
