Product Photography

The failure of this switch prevented the machine from shutting down, causing the loss of an arm.
Product liability cases require a specific approach to detail in terms of both photographic and evidentiary requirements.
Whether it's a large machine or small table-top item, we know how to photograph it to preserve the general nature and condition of the subject as well as provide the most useful photographs for further study and evaluation.
When photographing machines in a factory, we also take notice and document the "environment of use." There may be an allegation that a machine was misused but if there was something in the area that was not part of the machine but could have contributed to the incident, it is important to document it.
All warning labels on machines, serial numbers, manufacturer's markings and maintenance information are documented. The nature of all emergency cut off switches and their proximity to the pinch point are photographed and measured.
Small products are photographed with an appropriate background and sometimes, brought into our studio where we have more control of lighting and background.
