The recent trend in the courts is to not delay trials due to the unavailability of witnesses. Videotape de bene esse depositions have been the answer for a number of years, and are getting more sophisticated all the time.
The Evidence Store provides a unique service when taping a deposition of a doctor. Because of our vast inventory of anatomical charts and models, we provide the visual support for the deposition at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE when we do the assignment. Very often you can save almost the total cost of the taping charge by having us supply the demonstrative evidence for you as part of the package.
When booking a deposition with us, just fax us a copy of the doctor's reports that detail the general nature of the illness or injury. We also suggest making print exhibits from X-ray or MRI and CT Scan films. These show well on the video and are readily available for use at trial. We can also incorporate the use of the video presenter at the deposition to integrate images from books, videotape, or three-dimensional objects.
If you prefer a more courtroom-like setting, search no more! Our new courtroom facility is available at any hour to accommodate the schedules of all parties, and is available at no additional fee when we do the video. It includes witness box, counsel tables, as well as all the audio-visual equipment you need. Also, the doctor can select needed exhibits for the deposition from our showroom inventory prior to the taping, assuring the proper exhibit for the anatomy needed.
The base fee for videotaped depositions includes:
- First hour of deposition (from scheduled start time).
- Set-up time
- Travel up to 60 miles
- One audio tape for reporter.
- All duplicates as needed when ordered at time of deposition.
- Free use of anatomical models and charts
- Free use of The Evidence Store courtroom if requested.
- Supplemental location lighting if needed for best video quality
- Individual microphones for each party for best audio quality
Additional charge for:
- Each additional hour
- Tolls, mileage and parking if applicable
- Duplicates ordered at later date.
- Evenings, early morning, weekends starting 8AM or earlier, 6PM or later.
Rates for the above are based on depositions videotaped in northern New Jersey, Staten Island, some areas of New York and Pennsylvania. Additional fees apply for Manhattan and southern New Jersey.
