Richard T. McEvoy, Jr.
Co-Manager, Evidence Store of Rochester
After several years as a serious hobbyist, Richard began his formal photographic career in 1961 as a U.S. Navy photographer in Southeast Asia.
Returning to the United States in 1971, he worked in commercial and aerial photography again before getting involved in Law Enforcement photography with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Working with the bureau for 61/2 years, Dick was in charge of their forensic photography lab for two years before joining Kodak in May of 1982. Also, while with GBI, he was certified by the state as an instructor and began teaching courses in various phases of law enforcement photography in Georgia, Kentucky, and South Carolina.
During his career, in addition to various Kodak courses, Dick attended the FBI crime lab photographic course, Winona School Law Enforcement photography course, and McCrone Institute course on photo-micrography. Dick is also a member of the Evidence Photographers International Council, the International Association of Identification, The International Association of Arson Investigators and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. In 1990 he received the Hakanson Award from the Evidence Photographers International Council for contributions to forensic photography.
As a result of restructuring at Kodak, Dick's position and function of forensic imaging training were eliminated. He, therefore, formed the company "Forensic Imaging, Inc." and is president of it. During his career with Kodak he trained over 10,000 law enforcement officers nationally and internationally.
Dick brings many years of imaging experience to the Evidence Store and along with Royal, teams up to bring the 30 year tradition of the Evidence Store to the Rochester and Western New York area.

Royal L. Chamberlain

Royal Chamberlain first started working in Medical Photography in 1966, when he became the Assistant to the Medical Photographer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Palo Alto, California. After military service, he became a Medical Photographer at the University of Rochester medical Center and soon was appointed Senior Medical Photographer. Royal has given presentations on the topic of Medical Photography both locally, as a guest instructor at RIT, and at the international meeting of the Biological Photographic Association. In the mid 1980s, he recognized the parallel between the fields of Medical Photography and Civil Evidence Photography; so he began taking evidence photographs for a few of the attorneys in the Rochester area. Now that he has left the U of R, Royal has expanded his part-time business into a full-time operation entering into an affiliation with The Evidence Store of Union, New Jersey.
